Out of sight, out of mind. Those are probably the single most condemning words in the English language when it comes to the unthinkable treatment of our animal friends. If you saw a puppy getting kicked, you would definitely say something, right? Well, it's no different from the abuse suffered by other animals on factory-farms, in labs, or in the fur/leather trade. As a vegetarian, and an active member of the PETA (People for the Ethical Treament of Animals) Activist Street Team, I am dedicated to the protection of all of God's amazing creatures, wherever I can help.
I am a 21-year-old history major on the East Coast of Canada, and it has been my experience that by arming ourselves with information we really can do anything!
This site is intended to educate others on the issues they may have not previously known about, such as the hideous truth behind the meat industry, the legions of animals still being tortured and experimented on in laboratories, and the true horrors of the fur industry. Here you will not only find information on these and many other horrifying crimes against animals, but also information on how YOU can get involved TODAY in ending this needless suffering forever.
Why is this issue so important to me? What exactly am I aiming for? Well, as the largest animal rights organization in the world, PETA puts it best: "People who support animal rights believe that animals are not ours to use for food, clothing, entertainment, experimentation, or any other purpose and that animals deserve consideration of their best interests regardless of whether they are cute, useful to humans, or endangered and regardless of whether any human cares about them at all (just as a mentally challenged human has rights even if he or she is not cute or useful and even if everyone dislikes him or her)."
I urge you to open your eyes and your heart to the suffering going on the world over and see for yourself here how simple it is to get involved in helping our furry, feathered and aquatic friends. Do it for your dog, your goldfish, the tiger locked up at your local zoo, or the rats being injected with harmful chemicals in laboratories the world over, and know that you are taking the first step in becoming a voice for those who haven't one.

*Phew* I especially like the part about not being "fed by the lies or the life that's created just to be murdered". That really sums up what's in this vegetarian's heart in a nutshell!
